Wine, Anyone?

GWCC member Katie Resch is bringing these new colorful wine-bottle stoppers to this year's An Artful Affair. These amazing pieces are handpainted and crafted. Katie and her father also make wonderful cabinets from reclaimed wood that are decorated with Katie's wood burning/painting technique. We hope you'll come by to see them, and the many other wonderful items by local artists and artisans, at our show.

Beautiful Repurposing

We've mentioned before that GWCC has a strong commitment to the three R's (Reuse, Repurpose, and Recycle). Well, the work of guest artist Katie Resch is a shining example of that commitment.

Katie will be bringing her lovely art on reclaimed barn wood to An Artful Affair. Be sure to stop by on the 25th to see this piece and so much more by the talented members and associates of the Greater Westmoreland Creative Collective!

My handcrafted designs are clean, feminine and constantly evolving. My goal is to complement the beauty of each person who wears my creations."

"I started creating flowers three years ago shortly after joining a group of rug hookers in southwestern PA. You can hook a flower in 15 minutes--compared to a rug which may take years! I enjoy adapting various techniques in creative ways."

Although my “specialty” now is punchneedle, I enjoy so many needlework disciplines. I love incorporating the punching with needlepoint, cross stitch, knitting, crocheting, beading, and crafting of all kinds. Give me a myriad of found objects and materials and I’ll create a “treasure”."
